Christ’s Glorious Achievements – A Review by Alan Hill

Author
Category Book Reviews
Date September 22, 2014

This1 is a glorious book on a glorious subject. The prince of preachers Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892) outlines seven great achievements that Jesus Christ won for us.

Christ, he explains, is the end of the law, the conqueror of Satan, the overcomer of the world, the maker of all things new, the spoiler of principalities and powers, the destroyer of death and the seeker and saviour of the lost.

The book is full to the brim with Christ. His heart overflows as he seeks to magnify his work for us. As you read you will find yourself taught, challenged, comforted and encouraged.

If you have never read any of Spurgeon’s sermons then this is a wonderful place to start. Spurgeon never short-changes you, he never under-feeds you, and he always points you to Christ.

In his last sermon preached from the pulpit he said, ‘It is heaven to serve Jesus. I am the recruiting sergeant and I would fain find a few recruits at this moment.’ This book will show you the depth and height of your Saviour’s love for you and inspire you to tell others about Christ. Buy it, read it; you will not be disappointed.
